Self tapping screws are one of the highest-volume fastener types we supply. We manufacture to order across a wide range of thread forms, point types, head styles, drive recesses, materials, and surface treatments for construction, industrial, and general assembly applications. All production is ISO 9001 certified and available under OEM and private label arrangements for distributors and branded hardware lines.
Many of these screws are supplied with a type 17 screw point as standard. This allows for excellent material penetration with minimal material displacement to avoid splitting. Our Type 17 self tapping screws are particularly effective in hardwood applications as well as edgework where splitting can be an issue.
We supply self-tapping screws for metal applications and we are also able to provide specialist NSSC 550 screws for demanding applications which is one of our unique capabilities. These NSSC 550 screws are used when repeated loading and unloading is needed or where extreme tensile strength or corrosion resistance are needed.
We closely manage the production and quality inspection of all of our self tapping screw orders and we are also able to accommodate customer quality requirements to meet your local regulatory needs.
All of our manufacturing facilities have extensive quality inspection systems and processes that we confirm and monitor to ensure all shipments are of the highest stable product quality.
Please check our screw specifications page to see the wide range of options we can supply or contact us now with your detailed requirements.
Choose based on the product’s intended use, application method, and customer requirements.
Commonly used types include SUS302, SUS304, SUS316, SUS410. A special type called NSSC550 is exclusive to Cheng Hao, which has high hardness, high corrosion resistance, and high acid resistance. Its rust prevention is 15 times better than existing materials for screws.
Low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, high carbon steel.
Refers to steel materials that, besides containing carbon, also have other alloying elements such as silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, vanadium, molybdenum, etc.
Common material codes include 2011, 2024, 6061, 6082, 7075.
Brass (Yellow brass), Bronze.
Choose based on the product’s intended use, application method, and customer requirements.

We supply self tapping screws in coarse thread, fine thread, and AB thread forms, as well as specialized profiles including Type A, Type B, and Hi-Lo thread configurations. Thread form selection depends on the substrate material and the pull-out strength requirements of the application.
For wood and wood composite applications, coarse thread is standard. For sheet metal and thin gauge steel, finer thread forms or self tapping thread profiles are specified. If your product requires a thread form matched to a specific DIN, ISO, or regional standard, we confirm compliance at the sampling stage.
We supply self tapping screws in bugle head, pan head, hex washer head, flat countersunk head, oval head, and truss head configurations. Drive options include Phillips, Pozidriv, Square (Robertson), Torx, and combination drive recesses.
Head and drive combinations are selected to match the application and the installation tooling used in your market. If you supply a screwgun or driver specification, we configure the drive recess accordingly. We can also produce dual drive configurations where the market requires flexibility at the installation stage.
Standard material options include low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, and stainless steel grades 304 and 316. Alloy steel and specialty grades are available for applications where elevated hardness or specific mechanical properties are required.
Our duplex stainless steel grade NSSC 550 is available for applications where standard 304 or 316 stainless steel is insufficient. NSSC 550 offers significantly higher corrosion resistance than conventional stainless grades and is suited to coastal construction, chemical environments, and exterior applications with long service life requirements.
Standard surface treatment options include zinc electroplating, yellow zinc, black phosphate, black oxide, Ruspert silver, and powder coating. Thread locking patch coatings including Nylok are available for applications where vibration resistance is required.
The appropriate coating is determined by the corrosion environment and any applicable standards in your target market. We supply comparative salt-spray test data for each coating option and can confirm which treatment meets the requirements of your regional market or customer specification.
Yes. Type 17 notched tip points are a standard option across our self tapping screw range and are particularly suited to hardwood, engineered timber, and dense wood composite applications. The notched tip removes fibers during installation, reducing splitting and lowering the torque required to drive to flush.
Type 17 points are widely specified in Australian and New Zealand construction markets and are increasingly adopted in European timber frame and decking applications. If your customers are working with hardwood species or engineered timber products, we can configure the point geometry to your substrate requirements.
Yes. We manufacture to DIN, ISO, and ANSI/ASME standards as required by the target market. CE marking is available for products distributed within the European Union. Where a specific regional standard applies, we confirm compliance and provide documentation at the sampling stage.
If your market requires screws certified to a specific standard, provide the reference at inquiry stage and we will confirm whether the standard is achievable within the specified configuration. We supply full material certificates and inspection reports with every production order.
Yes. We supply self tapping screws under OEM and private label arrangements for retail chains, hardware distributors, and branded fastener lines. Packaging options include custom printed cartons, retail ready display boxes, blister packs, and bulk contractor packaging.
Packaging specifications including dimensions, print files, barcode requirements, and shelf formats are developed during the sampling process. We work with your procurement and category management teams to align packaging output with your planogram and retail presentation requirements.
Yes. Matching an existing product to specification is a standard part of our sampling process. Provide a physical sample of the current product or a technical drawing and we will produce a matched sample for your approval before any production order is placed.
Where no physical sample is available, a detailed specification sheet covering diameter, length, thread form, point type, head style, drive recess, material, and surface treatment is sufficient to begin the matching process. We confirm any deviations from your existing product in writing before proceeding to sample production.
Cheng Hao holds ISO 9001 certification covering our quality management system across product development, supplier management, production oversight, inspection, and logistics. CE marking is available for applicable products sold within the European Union. Full inspection certificates and test reports are supplied with every order.
Our quality management process includes incoming raw material verification, in-process dimensional inspection, optical screening, and final preshipment inspection. Documentation packages can be tailored to the requirements of your quality team or to meet the compliance requirements of specific retail or industrial customers.
To provide an accurate quotation we need the screw type, diameter and length, thread form and point type, head style and drive recess, material and surface treatment, applicable standard or target market, and your packaging requirements. Estimated annual volume helps us confirm pricing and lead time against production scheduling.
If you have an existing product you want matched, a sample or technical drawing is the most efficient starting point. We will confirm lead times based on whether the specification falls within our standard range or requires a custom tooling setup.
